I bought my Porter Cable multi tool to cut door trim when installing laminate flooring. I was sanding my front door prior to painting and got the idea to use stripper. This was not a good idea, and after scraping paint off with my 5 in 1 tool, I remembered that the multi tool had a scraper blade. It took the paint off down to bare wood with no effort.

They are great for undercutting door jambs and casing. That scraper is great for removing years of caulking when you replace an exterior door or window. A trick to cutting with the tool is let it do all the work. Don't try to push faster than it will cut or you'll slow the blade.

Give yourself credit for remembering before you were done w/the job.

I bought the HF var speed version for $27...I've used the dog **** out of it.

If it broke tomorrow, I'd still be ahead.

That paint scraper works great....it also does a fantastic job of pealing vinyl flooring up.

I need to get another scraper blade for mine, I wore it out. The longer I have had the multitool more I find for it to do, lots of little jobs that are a right pain to do with old methods.

I use mine replacing glued in parts for semi truck hoods. To remove parts without damage to others you need to remove it in sections with heat to soften the glue. Only way is with oscillating tool because it will plunge cut one piece and not go through the good piece. Wore out a Dremel tool. Now have a rigid with changeable heads in air, Cordless, and electric.
