I make a specialized attachment for an oscillating tool and since most of my clients have very little tool knowledge I have been providing a Milwaukee M12 unit along with my attachment.

No problems with the Milwaukee but I can purchase the Bosch Multi-X for considerably less and the blade attachment is the same.

Before I pull the pin and do a purchase anyone have any experience with both units? I only run the units at half speed for less than 10 minutes at a time but I get 20 plus minutes out of the milwaukee.

Thanks for your input.

Generally speaking Bosch is big step down from Milwaukee. I've had a few of their tools over the years and without exception they were cheaper and had technical or functional problems.

I have one of each and prefer the Milwaukee. I originally purchased the Bosch a couple years ago when I was building my cabin and it works well. Since most of my tools are now left up at "man cave north", I needed some tools to keep here around the house so I wasn't constantly having to wait for the weekend to move tools back and forth. I went with the M12 solution and got a drill, the oscillating tool, rotary tool and fork meter. I'm not sure I can give any definitive reason why I prefer the M12 but it has just worked better for me. I guess maybe it seems to be more solidly built. Seems to be less vibration and just feels better in my hand, although I have never compared and used them side by side. My Bosch is noticeably noisier. I don't think the Bosch would be a bad purchase but I would pick the M12 if I only had one.

Thanks for the input.

MAK my clients aren't impressed with the noise the Milwaukee makes and I'm sure they don't want more...VBG

Anyone else?

BTW I have two corded units, a Rockwell and a Dremel and I prefer the Rockwell other than the blade selection.
