OT: Fathers Day Sales

OT....just waiting on Father Days Promos.
It is just me....or has the power tool guys like Bosch, etc - decided to sit this one out this year.

I think it's still a bit early for the Fathers day deals. Wait until after memorial day and they'll start popping up everywhere.

Waiting for Lowes to put some of the Kobalt sets on sale. Need one to keep in the truck. Our local Lowes generally has some good deals for Father's Day.

Bosch is a little late to the party, but it looks like they now have a $25 off $100 or more purchase. Issue is only some product is eligible. I looked at the jigsaws and they are around $250 which is about $80 higher than I remember them being a couple years back! Not sure why there is such a price hike.

Amazon has $10 off $50 of select Stanley tools. Nice time to pick up the $23 gimmicky rotating ratchet for that one time it really comes in handy. For an extra $2, can get the version that includes a few cheap sockets. The pencil sized screwdriver item is a good tool, worth getting two.

I paid $220 for my Bosch jigsaw about 8 years ago from Amazon. I did get some free Wolfcraft clamps though. I remember that purchase because I had to think about it for a while. I finally did it and don't regret it. Still works great!

Fathers day for tools usually is not that great. There is a thread like this every year. There tend to be lots of discounts but they don't go very deep. The random unexpected clearance sales tend to have a lot better deals.

You made me check...I paid $170 for a 1590evsl in 2011 (no promos). It seems like the 470 is the equivalent this year which is about $145 now, which is quite reasonable for what you get. It looks like the 572 suffers from being the newest top of the line model released in 2012, and it takes a few years for that price to drift down to earth. $275...ouch!

Have anyone ever seen Milwaukee offer $25-$50 off depending on X dollars spent. I always tend to buy Bosch accesories whenever these promos roll around -
