I know about contractortalk.com but it isn't a very active site. Anyone know of a better forum for general contractors? I am looking to get my license again and would like advice on taking the NC test. Things seemed to have changed quite a bit since I had my license 20 years ago.
Thanks

I would suggest taking a license prep class. Do an online search; there are many available. May cost you $300.00 but will help you to pass first time.

second this. It's worth it for the networking opportunities. A lot of guys that have been journeymen in trades go for GC licenses after a few years of work. That helps them get jobs done either without their boss having to come sign off or wait for another trade that might be hours or days. Most guys I know that do the class are doing it because they 'need' it in the sense they aren't going to become GC's, don't have the experience per se, they just need the paper.

Go and you'll wind up with a phone full of contacts you can call in a pinch.
