Here in the next month or so I need to remove the head off my 2008 Ford Explorer with 4.0. I was just wondering if anyone has the tool set and are willing to loan out or sell. Haven't been able to find any used sets. Also if anyone has pointers on removing the front chain and left head please let me know.
Thanks
Brandon

Pull engine to do the chains and guides. Or remove transmission to get at rear chain. PITA either way. That toolkit is rare and very expensive. Only mechanic shops will have it, and they do not loan tools.

Did you transpose a number? I see OTC 6488 kits available, but there's literally only two mentions of "OTC 4688' via google and one is your post here, another is an ebay auction where someone definitely transposed the number as the title vs. description had two different numbers.

If I were you, I'd try signing up at ExplorerForum.com and asking them if you haven't already.
