Big F(lipping) Hammer?

This brand makes decent stuff (at least specialty kits) see no reason why their hammers would **** or won't do what they say. Problem is that these are f(lipping) expensive, I mean REALLY expensive and the warranty is pretty much worthless if you have to ship it back to them in pieces.

If you hammer that much (as in sledge for destruction) you'll probably get your money's worth but for automotive I'd say no. I'd just buy a one piece where the handle isn't going to be an issue for 60 bucks less but some of the stuff they're offering isn't available in one piece (6 pound sledge).

What's it for?

OTC make great products. While most are foreign, I have never had a problem with one of their tools. I mostly have specialty tools and diagnostic equipment from them; compression tester, leak down tester, slide hammer, puller kits, to name a few. And I have been VERY happy with them.

Would I buy one of those hammers? If I needed it, yes. I like OTC as a brand, and would buy another one of their products.

I do not own one of those hammers though, but would like to note that they are pretty clever in naming it B.F.H. (Best Forged Hammer), because we ALL know what it really stands for.....

Not sure. Just browsing right now, but I could use a ball pein and maybe a small sledge. I didn't think they were that expensive, but I get your point. I haven't priced the big hammers. As for warranty, I'd have to check around to see if there are local dealers. I bet there isn't, though.

Bingo! Pretty much the same thing.

Agreed. I have a bunch of their stuff too and like everything I have. Even if some of it is foreign made.

We have a 10lb at work that is exactly the same except branded JET Unbreakable. It is awesome to use(oilfield so pretty much daily). Great grip and they feel good to swing, so good it feels like your swinging a lighter hammer almost.

I agree with this exactly. Their diagnostic tools are really great for their price. If you end up buying some let us know how they work out. It's always great to have reviews around here to be searched for!

I was more than impressed when I read through an old OTC Pullers catalog and found out their tool warranty covered fire damage. No joke, anything that got burned up in a fire was fully covered by warranty.
This was way back in the day when customer service really meant something. That was all good American steel too, and I guess they had no problem taking it back for recycling.

Far as I can tell OTC is just another branding company, not a manufacturer, but maybe I have them mixed up with ATD or some other letters.
