Anyone used one of these lately? Thinking about picking up a second scan tool and looking at Autel and OTC. I know Autel is highly regarded but im not a fan of the company ripping off IP left right and center so wondering if the OTC is a contender.

I have the Mac version of the otc evolve. It’s any okay scanner for the money. Definitely would of never bought it. Would of got encore for less money still had money to buy another Brand scanner. For what evolve costs.Autel is way better does a lot more. Also look at the launch scanner if you don’t have one of them.

Major selling point of the higher end Autels is all the programming options for modules and keys. Not sure how Launch compares there.

The Autel j2534 programmer is okay. It’s not the greatest it has its flaws. It does do tons of keys and coding of modules and relearns with no issues.
I would get Autel 906-908. Then get launch pad ll would have 2 great tools for the money.

the thing i don't like about OTC is that they introduce a new scan tool, support it for three to five years, and then introduce a new platform while dropping support for the old platform.
Have you looked at launch?

Disappointing to hear that. They were pretty good about the old Genisys. I know the touch was short lived but figured that had more to do with the infusion of cash and knowledge from Bosch.

Have you used Launch 431/pads side by side with the newer autel 908s? Similar module and key programming options? Tons of info about the Autels but really sparse when it comes to the higher end Launch options.

Ended up getting a Launch Pro3 which was released to the US this year. Some Chinglish here and there but have done an ECM swap and a handful of keys already so im pretty happy. Pretty incredible value honestly.

The only thing im a tad disappointed in is that there is no stand.
