OTC grease gun question

I bought the OTC grease gun during a promo they were having a couple weeks ago.

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EVPLRRU/?tag=atomicindus08-20

It's a nice unit but is "leaking" a huge streams of grease from the automatic air bleeder fitting. It is pushing out in a huge stream. I wipe it off and next morning there is another huge trail of grease escaping.I have operated the level and grease is coming out from the hose end just fine.

It is supposed to be an "automatic" air bleeder on this gun. There is a brass Phillips screw in the bleeder that does not seem to tighten or loosen either way, just spins freely. The directions do not say to do anything to the bleeder and call it "automatic"

Is it just defective? Anyone have this gun who could shed some light? I always seem to have nothing but trouble with grease guns. This seems like such a solid gun but I'm very frustrated with the ropes of grease spewing from the bleeder.

I can't tell you if its the gun or not, I have had this problem with grease guns I have owned. What I have done is release the pressure on the grease after using it. You will have to re prime the gun again, but after a few uses you will learn the gun.

At the rate it is expelling grease thru the bleeder the gun will be empty soon. I think I'm sending back to OTC. The screw in the bleeder does not tighten or loosen and I can do nothing to stop the streams of grease being expelled thru the bleeder.

Hi ya I know I’m kind of late but having the plunger all the way out in the lock position seemed to have stopped the leak from the air bleeder. Well that don’t work I opened the gun and closed the automatic air bleeder by hand and I think that fixed the leak
