OTC heavy duty code reade 3418

Looking for some feedback on this generic code reader. Will it pull codes or work with a C7 Cat/GMC C7500? This is the primary vehicle that I want it for. I know about the 3417 and other more expensive options but I am going on the cheap and my boss will get this for the shop.

We have ServiceMaxx for IHC but they don't want to buy any Cat programs because they are cheap asses and they are on the way out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ive used ours on cats , macks , volvo,cummins,detroit without much of a problem. As long as you have the 6 pin or 9 pin deustch connector on the truck you will get heavy duty standard I belive.
