The HF special ***** as well as its rebranded brothers (OTC, Westward, ATD, etc...) I already destroyed it. But the snap on bar puller and bearing separator are really expensive to piece together. Is there anything in between? Like Proto or Williams or something?

I need to replace my 4-1/2" bearing separator and the bar and standoffs I destroy in the small bearing separator kit that HF sells.

I wouldn't count OTC out unless you actually used their splitter; mine in similar size has been good.

Not sure what you're doing, but you might be far better off making room for a nice shiny 20t HF press

I'm guessing its probably out of your budget, but after breaking a few otc splitters, I got the yukon gear bearing puller. Absolutely amazing and zero risk of damaging bearings.

I have a floor press I use the separator with it. The HF separator was OK except the threads had stripped out

Ill have to look into them. Is there a general kit to start with?

I had an old OTC that was indestructible. If you can find an oldie they are good. Unfortunately they are off shore now as was written in an older thread.
