Hi I have this heater in my pole building at home and 2 of them at the garage at work. We are real happy with them, cheap to use and heat great.

I am looking at getting one of those, this model (OASU10000T) in particular: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200316377_200316377 and wasn't sure if it was going to be big enough, just want to be sure. I have a 28'x28' garage with 12' ceilings and insulated garage doors, will insulate walls with R19 (2x4 framing) and ceiling with R30. There are interior stairs that subtract from the area and are framed in to give an idea of approx 8800 cu feet. I don't need to bring the heat into the 70's 50's would be fine, I am located in NJ.

George, what is the size of your pole barn?

How high are your ceilings?

Was told I should supplement with an IR heater to keep costs down, do you find the operating cost high, or this as necessary?

-Thanks
