Our multi use pole barn 40 x 54

Here is our heated pole barn getting started. Been working on this for a year now. Got it insulated and heated now. What a great thing to have going. It is drywalled and working on painting the inside now. Going to use corrugated galvanized steel on the ceiling and side walls. Will have more pictures put up soon.

Looks good, do you have any more pictures? I like how the 'lean-to' extends around 3 sides. I have been thinking about doing the same with my existing pole barn.

Cool idea about the model. Those always make it easier to imagine the proportions. I didn't make a model, but made a 1/25th scale drawing and used die cast cars to mock up diff configurations. What scale is your model?

The building is heated with radiant heat via an outside wood burner. Works great so far. Nothing like walking on a warm floor. We insulated with fiberglass batts. Now I wish we would have used some kind of blow in insulation in the walls. Have some leaks around outlets and such. All in all, very comfortable building, especially being a pole barn of all things. Nicer than the house in many ways. Great place for us all to hang out.

The scale of the model is 1' = 1/2". Made for a nice model. The building is 54' long and the model is 27" long. I really enjoyed building the model. Still have not built the ceiling trusses. Need to do that yet.

It is the only heat for the building. Seems to work pretty good. The temperature does roller coaster on me a bit. If I set it to 68, it will heat up to 73 and dip down to 65. Its like running a big fly wheel in there. I do like it though. Still working out my temperature control kinks.

The height of the side walls is 14' to the bottom of the trusses. They are scissor trusses with 5/12 pitch on the inside. The middle is 19' to the truss. We made the mezzanine to be 8' clearance. The Loft side wall starts at 5' on the sides and is 9' in the middle.
