We didn’t build this one, but we’re really fortunate to have it. We’re still getting settled in, so there’s a lot of arranging, organizing, and decorating to do, but for now, we’re up and running!

The general specs:

6,000 SF shell with approximately 1,500 SF of living area on 2 acres

2 bed, 1 full bath, kitchen, laundry, mechanical

Full closed-cell spray foam insulation, all LED lighting, 2 Carriers 5-ton units for the shop, 4 Mitsubishi mini-splits in living areas, epoxy floor, Big *** fan, etc.

It is located in a development with a small, private airport, a residential sub-division, and access to 500 acres of the Palo Duro Canyon with fishing, hiking, and ATV trails.

Thanks for letting me share, and feel free to ask any questions!

I think someone likes black cars! We saw a couple of the airport subdivisions in Chicago and never thought about looking closer as a big "garage" would be more likely.

Congrats on an awesome space and look forward to seeing what other fun stuff happens there!

Thought FAA had mandated Hangers were not to be used for storage except aircraft?
Don’t know anything about that. 50%+ of the hangars here have no airplane use.

Edit - after looking into it, that stipulation has to do with receiving FAA/government grants of funding for operation of that airport.

This is a private airport facility where a POA operates and maintains itself.

Very nice, @ZaneO. Thanks for the look. I wasn't sure it was possible to have too much garage, but, boy, that comes close! I'm envious...

Seriously though, absolutely gorgeous hangar and collection. Post some more detail pics of the cars themselves if you'd like. Most of us on here are gearheads.

Beautiful Place!!
Ultimate garage for sure! I always say to my wife, I want a 5,000 square ft garage to go w/my 1,500 Sq/ft house.
She's not going for it quite yet, but you're giving me inspiration! :bounce:

Great cars in there! Can't tell if that's a Grand National or a GNX?? Really like the fleet!
Palo Duro is beautiful, spent time out there when I went to Texas Tech.
Will be in Lubbock this weekend for the TTECH/TCU game as my son is a Senior there.
Love West Texas!!

Congrats on this Garage Hanger, you'll make some great memories there for sure!!

Far from Bezos, but the family is very blessed!
I’m actually working through, car by car to get things back in order.

Absolutely love it! In the last pic you attached in the original post, the one that shows all the vehicles from a raised perspective, could you give me a rough measurement from the wall just next to the lift at the right, all the way across to the left wall, and from that same lift post all the way to the back wall? Reason I ask is it looks like you can comfortably get 10 cars in there without the lift and I am looking to find out what that basic size is for when hopefully I can build my dream garage for my little collection. I would love to also get a lift which would allow me to store 11 but for now I am just looking for the basic dimensions.
Thank you!

The footprint dimension of the building is 60’ wide and 100’ long. We give each lift approximately 12’ in width and 20’ in length to allow for opening vehicle doors completely and walking around vehicles.

Ah, thank you. So it looks like 60' by 40' is what I am looking for. Congrats on your property!

Fantastic place! Two questions: How can you be in Lubbock and have access to Palo Duro canyon 100 miles away And how did the red car sneak in?

Lol - I guess I haven’t looked at my profile in a long time! We moved back to Amarillo in 2007.

The hangar is a little over 20 minutes from my house.

The red Z28 was my first car. My father-in-law later indoctrinated me to black cars 😂
