Snap-On *****, Bosch is great, haven't used the other two. Metabo is too big for my liking, Milwaukee seems like it would be good.

The Snap on version doesn't ****. It's just a matter of personal preference and how you use it. I use mine daily for all types of trim work and general screwing. I wouldn't want to be without it. If it were to **** out on me, I would get another one in a heartbeat.I think the Bosch models are too large and bulky for under dash work. Whatever you buy, shop around. There are big price differences. Bosch has a buy one get a free one rebate going on now. It's up to the user and what they like.

3 people at work had Snap-On's. The Snap-On dealer now has 3 used Snap-On drivers, and the mechanics have 3 Bosch drivers. *Shrug* I was far from impressed with it. Cheap feel, especially on the trigger, no torque setting, rocker switch is dumb IMHO, and not nearly as much power.

I have this Dewalt screwdriver; while maybe not quite "mini" it has good runtime and tons of torque! This has become one of my favorite tools!

I have the dewalt one but it's bulky... it was a freebie with my sawzall so it's ok. I like the milwaukee the most right now. Whatever you do, buy one with a clutch (not the snap on!!!)

I am very happy with the Snapon. Everyone has their own preferences. Try them all and get the one that suits your work.

I just bought the Bosch PS40 two weeks ago, I love it and will never be without one. I am an electrician, it makes my job sooooooooo much easier than using a fullsize drill for everything. I had no problem driving tek screws through red iron with it, as you can tell I am impressed with it, Bosch has won me back. Plus, as it was already mentioned you can get the PS20 FREE if you buy the PS40.

if you are referring to the "mini thug", snapon will have a replacement avail. next month that has a torque setting.

i love mine. being that I do stereo work for a living, it is probably my most used tool next to my strippers.. every once in a while, the trigger sticks but no big deal. wait til tuesday for my driver to swing by, and he swaps me out if I want.

If he means that I will say that it is far from being a piece of junk for what it does. It's an electric screwdriver, it's got plenty of torque for it's size and a good amount of runtime on the batteries. I got mine when it initially came out and the snap on logo has pretty much disappeared from the use it gets. I've dropped it in coolant a few times and it still works great after blowing it out with air. Never any real issues with mine and it has nearly replaced my 1/4" air ratchet. Haven't tried the bosch but the snappy is tough competition. I can see it being a godsend to those that do stereo work.

Does this mail in rebate work from an online seller? Looking at a few PS40-2s on www.google.com/products linked for ~$140...

I would think so as long as you meet all of the requirements listed on the rebate form - buy a new unit during the promo period, send in the UPC label, original receipt, and form.

Just checked - coastaltool.com is listing this promo on their site so it looks good for you.

You could also call the 800 number on the form to see if online retailers qualify.

That's the one, alright.

Rocklers the woodworking store is blowing out the last of the older 4.8v Metabo's for $70. I paid about $10 more a few months back and its my new 100% tool for removing and installing screws, drilling, etc. For the money I don't think it can be beat.

What I plan on is to use it for all the torque sensitive stuff, and get a medium cordless impact driver for the heavier work that doesn't demand an air impact power.

Of the two ones I have used:
Bosch >> Snap on

Snap on doesn't have an intermediate trigger, its on or off.

Looking at them, only the Snap-on is actually that "mini" the bosch ones are no smaller than my DeWalt 12-volt with smaller battery packs. they seem pretty big in the pictures.

the thing that puts me off the Snap-on one is the trigger. i'd rather it had a switch for direction.

Actually, you get a free PS20 if you buy a PS10, PS20 or PS40. Extra batteries are about $40 so it wouldn't be a bad deal to pick up an extra.

Bosch Tools Rebate Form

What is the difference between the PS20 and the PS20-2?

Do you get a charger or anything with the free PS20? I know you don't get a battery, but...

You don't get anything with the free PS20, I doubt the 2 denotes a remanufactured unit. If that was the case they only give you the free PS20 if you purchased a remanufactured one, makes no sense. I think the 2 denotes it's the set (batteries, case and charger) and not just the tool.

They are definately smaller and lighter than the 12 volt Dewalt drills. I have the PS40 and had a Dewalt 12 volt awhile ago. The PS40 drives #10 tek screws through red iron faster than my 18v Dewalt does.

I haven't held a PS20, i was going by the pictures i saw on amazon. the body itself looks (to me) to be of a similar size.

as for the PS20-2, i was going by what i read on another site. it listed the "options" if you like for the bosch drivers. i wondered why it listed the PS20-2 as so much cheaper, and it said it was a remanufactured/reconditioned unit. i may have got the number wrong, but that's what i recalled.

Has anyone used the right angle (ps10) bosch? I have looked at these with the rebate, and dont know whether it is better to get 2 that are about the same other than torque, or the right angle.

I stopped by lowes today and played with the right angle, but they didn't have batteries in them so I couldnt get a real feel for the operation. I will mostly use them for tearing apart/reinstalling car interiors. I dont need the extra power that often, but it would be nice, but the right angle would also be nice. Anyone got experience.

It's not even close to a similar size.

They are ALL ps20-2's. There is no ps20. Yes, some sites sell reman'd ps20-2's, just like some sell new ps20-2's.

Listen, Sunshine.

There's no need to get your ******* in a twist. To me, the body looks a similar size. whether it is or not, i can't tell either way. have never held or seen one of these drivers in person i can't make an accurate judgement. from looking at the limited pictures i saw on amazon, they LOOKED to be a similar size. if you can't handle that TO ME they looked similar then maybe you're reading too deep into this.

Ok, so i made a mistake over the model numbers. i looked them up on a site and this site (it escapes my memory which site it was) it listed a new cordless driver as a PS20 and a remanufactured unit as a PS20-2. that was the information i had to go by. i looked on Bosch's European site and it doesn't list them. i felt no need to continue looking them up as they are not available to me.

I trust you can understand that there may be errors in both the internet sites and my memory. i did not study the topic of these.

If you're still pissed over the matter, feel free to PM me. However, i see the way you've handled something so pathetic as me making a mistake over the details of a cordless driver in such a way that there's little point in continuing.

I'm done with the matter, and will cease to post in this thread to prevent you getting further upset over the matter.

cts561 is 6.1" tall, 4.6" long.
ps20 only lists 6.5" tall. the picture on bosch's website makes it appear to be longer than the SO, if it matters.

In vehicles that would require me to put down my std. length no.2 phillips screwdriver for something shorter like a stubby, I can sometimes fit the mini thug in there.

the trigger on the snap on is annoying, but ive adapted.
