Outboard Repair Stand

Well the season is just around the corner to hit the lakes and rivers, catch some fish and cruise around looking for cuties in bikinis. My phone has started to ring with customers making appointments to get their toys serviced and ready for the ice to go. So the last two days I pulled some steel off the rack welded up one of many new outboard motor stands. While the first one is on the rack awaiting for the fresh coat of paint to dry I thought I'd post to see what other's have for stands, have made or bought. When the paint is dry I'll pull it off the rack and post up some pictures here for all to see. What I'd like to see is some pictures what stands everyone else has in the shop, the garage, or the old shed out back.

I like to keep things simple. I clamp a 2 x 8 plank, roughly 24" long in my vice. I clamp the OBM to the plank. Of course I don't do repairs for a living so I can get away with this format.

I had a bunch of these tires from an auction so I decided to use them on some OBM stands I'm making. My father came out and seen that I hadn't painted it so of course he started giving me **** of how I never paint my equipment so...I painted it. Had some left over Allis Chalmers orange but my camera makes it look red for some odd reason.

I sure could, haven't figured the current material cost per each but I could given a couple of days. These are really heavy duty, well balanced the pneumatic tires make easy over rough terrain compared to some cheaper made versions I see at most Marinas including one I part time at. PM me and I'll get back to you on a price.

When I worked on my brothers outboard a couple of years ago, I clamped it to the bucket on my Bobcat. Worked great!
