Outdoor Candlebra fixture (LED) weird issue....

So I have two exterior lights and the incandescents burned out so I figured it was time to switch to LEDs. The switch is an Intermatic in wall timer.

Installed the LEDs and they just lit up (but not 100%). I checked the timer switch and it's in the off position. Then I manually turned on the switch and the bulbs went to 100%.

What's going on here? Never encountered such a situation.

Comments? Suggestions?

I bet the timer draws a little current through to run itself, and that little current is enough to light off the LEDs (especially if they're dimmable). We saw weird things happen when I put a CFL on a circuit with a lighted switch, for the same reason.

Yep. There's just a little bit of current getting to the socket....just enough to light the LED.

Interesting that the bit of current never lit up the incandescents. Would you guys say the draw isn't even a big deal or should I replace the timer switch?
