outdoor drain cover clogged?

I've got this drain cover that keeps getting clogged which cause large puddling. Debris from my yard and the neighbors yard washes down and clogs the cover. I think I need some type of larger cover that has more surface area to keep the drain cover from getting clogged. Any ideas? I was thinking about wrapping a silt sock around the drain but I don't think it will be very free flowing.

I don't want a more open cover. I was think along the lines of some sort of larger cover that has more surface area to catch debris before it gets to the drain. Something that I can place over the original cover that's much larger

I can't see the picture you posted but i have the grate in the first link of post #4 and all that happens to mine is the debris covers it so then the water level has to keep rising for the drain to work and ultimately covering the top of it, luckily my drain the end is only 30 feet away so i can take the cover off and let all the debris go through. Mine is mainly pine needles/cones and leaves

I made the catch basin cover (grate) at the end of my driveway from expanded steel. It's about 18"x18"x3" high. It looks like a square box lid. The sides trap the debris (mainly oak and eucalyptus leaves) and when the sides are blocked the water and debris flow onto the top. It has a lot of capacity and works well. It looks something like the picture below except the grate extends 3" above the concrete. It discharges into a single 4" pipe.

Get rid of what ever is getting trapped on the grate. A larger cover will just take more time to clog up. Or just allow it to flow through the pipe if the material is small enough.

I have some water that has surfaced and puddled up in one area of my yard, I bought 3 of the third Lowes pic link, they also have a base for these, I am going to trench and run 40' of corrugated pipe where hopefully the water will run down and out of my yard and the area will dry up. Hopefully it will stop raining this week and I can get this done, me and my 4 legged friend are catching a lot of heat from the boss!!
