This is a sign I did for our church about 13 years ago, the LED's I was able to find were more for channel letters but not really rated for outdoors. They're failing and I'm looking online for replacements and just figured I'd ask here too.

The sign only is 13 yrs old or sign & LEDs are 13 yo?
If the latter, nothing to complain about.

What is in there now, LED ribbon, or bulbs?

If those are LED strip lights I think you answered your own question. I would look to find something at least with any level of water ingress protection if the installation will be outside. IP68 is overkill (think LED lights for a pool) but will work.

I’ve had exceptional luck with Environmental Lights on a number of projects over the past few years. Not the cheapest, but the products are very well done and their pre and post sales support are absolutely top notch. Plenty of outdoor rated options up to IP67.

My experience too.

TPR Lighting and Prizm Lighting both have products for this application.

The sign is 13 years old, and its on its second set of LED's. The original ones were a PITA, they were little sticks and you had to use jumpers and spade connectors, the ones now are like 2.5" long and are already wired together, but I don't know what got put in.efc sign.jpg
We have since changed the lettered part of the sign out for backlit panels (I originally had the sign done for about $12k total). so now its just the tree and the oval at the bottom (A place to grow, the city stole our saying and not its "a great place to grow"). The top of the panels is removable and the drivers or 12v transformers are in there. pex tubing runs out thru the blocks to the different elements for the wire runs (two tree halves, 5 ovals for heads and the text oval at the bottom).

I was looking at LED WORLD website and their STAR-F03X modules that have Samsung 2835 SMD LED's, 160 degree angle, IP-68, 18 AWG wire, 1.2w 100lm per module, 5700k or 3000k, -4*F to 113*F, 40,000+ hours, 50 per roll, 3.25" spacing. $44.50/roll.
