I saw an ad a few days back for a new product; outdoor light bulbs with a built in security camera with Bluetooth to connect to an app on your phone. You simply install the new bulb into the fixture and it powers the camera. Link the lights Bluetooth to your phone and you now have security lights and camera on your shop. Anyone seen these? Used them? Reviews?

Makes so much sense I wonder if they are as good as the TV Special commercials make them up to be, or just use an Arlo product.

After some internet shopping I found this at Wally Mart:

Dumb question: If you screw it in with the light switch off it'll get no power ? So is the idea is to permanently have the switch power the light on ? Will the light part then be lit at all times ? Or is it a motion sensitive light (with camera) at that point ?

It disturbs me a little that the Walmart product has a product image showing the camera installed over what appears to be a bathroom vanity.

Have not used these. Might be good inside but outside at night I wonder if the corona from the light part will affect the camera.

Sengled Snap has been out for years. It's a flood light, not a bulb shape, so the camera doesn't have to be an extreme fisheye. Yes, power needs to be ON, so any other lights on the circuit will also be ON. Built in photocell means the light wont be on during the daytime. Motion sensor trips the camera and night vision. Also, it's wifi, which means that you can get alerts on your phone even when you're not home. And you can have a conversation with a person by the light, as well. Pretty cool stuff. https://us.sengled.com/products/sengled-smart-led-with-security-camera-par38-bulb

If your looking to get into DIY Security Cameras.....

And as stated above I think the HALO...From the cam being so close to Lite sorce would effect the Picture Quality big time.

Eh if my kids were coming home to an empty house after school I think I’d put a few at entrances. Used to ask them to text me when they were home and kids of course never did. Nor did they lock the door.
