outdoor motion detection lighting

Any recommendations? Mine work too good. Matter fact they are on more than they are off. I've adjusted the sensitivity with no luck.

I have Zenith motion sensing lantern style lights with a feature called ( Dual brite) on the outside of my home. Bought them at Home Depot for around 35$ ea. The light can be set to a strictly motion sensing system or it can be used as a dusk to dawn feature ( which I use) turns on automatically at dusk and using a 100W bulb only runs at 60W during the night unless something is caught on the sensor. Once detection occurs it automatically turns on to a full 100W light for a pre-set amount of time 5,10, or 15 mins. Turns of completely at dawn for the day again. I haven't noticed a difference in the electricity bill what so ever.. I only have the two on nightly which are located at the side garage man door because it's so dark there.

I think I have basically the same unit as Tonkajoe.. I don't use the night function, but the motion sensor is quite good. I can adjust it quite a bit to do what I need.

I have the same lights that TonkaJoe was talking about. Real nice lights, and when activated they do light up the area. Comes in handy when driving up or getting out of the truck. Only had one bulb burn out when first installed, after that no issues.
That was about 6 months ago. They come on, on a low setting, at dusk and go off at dawn, unless motion is detected ... well worth the money

I know they have white available as well even though it's not showing online, they are also carried in store which is how I got mine.

I just put up a Utilitech Pro LED motion activated flood light, model SE1036-BP2-02LF0-U Easy to install, easy to adjust / set, and so far its been a trouble free device. It lights up my back yard well and is sensitive enough to pick up our dogs when let out...

I just put in an RAB Super Stealth flood light with a 360 degree motion sensor under the eave on my garage. It's built like a tank, has multiple light modes and a good adjustment in sensitivity. Plus it's all metal construction and made in the USA. Also nice that in the lamp hoods there are rubber gaskets to prevent bugs/moisture from getting to the bulb socket.

They do run on flood-style halogen bulbs, but accept the LED flood bulbs. a pure LED light was too bright/annoying for my garage location. I was tired of the cheap **** they sell at the big box stores.

It's a little pricy, but it has gone lower than the price below on Amazon.

I have one of the Zenith motion sensing dual securty style on my garage with 2 led bulbs. It is set to be on low power dusk to dawn. Very low power draw.

I bought two of the LED ones from costco. They work great, but the claimed 22.5 year life on the bulbs is off by about 22.45 years on half of the bulbs in 2 of the 3 units I bought. Not acceptable for LED bulbs to me. I would stay away...

Make sure your lights are not too close to the sensor. That will trip the
Off. I installed 3 cheapie motion lights from menards at about 16-20 a pop last fall and they work fine.

I had one of these mounted on the underside of my deck. The gaskets must be worthless on these as the lenses filled up with water.

Attach blinders on the sides or window screen over the front to reduce sensitivity.
