I have heard conflicting opinions on putting the company name on the trailer. The Dallas Police Dept says it increases the likelihood of a break-in but decreases the odds of all-out theft.

Personally I would be concerned about someone being able to just take the trailer away and wouldn't sign write it. Thats me thinking about the uk where there's quite a high population and a fair bit of theft though. We don't have that much of a murder rate but quite a few thefts so I'm willing to take that trade I suppose.

Well it has been on the job for a couple weeks now and I'm loving it. After several nasty potholes and one railroad crossing that made the whole trailer go airborne, nothing has come off the shelves.

I am however contemplating adding a bank of small (in depth) wide drawers to the front.

And yes, it is still CLEAN!

Looks good. There's a guy on youtube with a trailer all decked out with Festool also. A lot of cool tricks in his.

I wish I could have more of a reason to do a trailer. I live right off the Merritt Parkway and no commercial vehicles/trailers/buses anything like that, even duallies are allowed.

I have to run up that to alot of clients, so I can't tie myself to a trailer.

Invest in some gooooood locks now, for the rear doors, side door and tongue when you don't have it on the truck.

That because a distinctive trailer is easy for anyone including the police to spot, while that bland gray trailer looks like anyone of a zillion others Haulmark has built.

Might consider a wrap on the trailer, a distinctive one with lots of artwork, but without any real substance, and with your name or number but not the type of business, incorporated subliminally into it :eyecrazy:

Hello fellow woodbutcher :) Your trailer looks nice! You carry and drywall square or framing square? If you are looking for a set of saw horses I would get a pair of the stanley fatmax ones. They are amazing!

I see you have the durham organizers and small plastic ones. If you need something bigger I keep 3 of these http://www.stanleytools.com/default...esc=Stanley®+Deep+Professional+Organizer
Just a fyi one of the small bins will hold about 4.75 lbs of 2 1/2" deck screws.

I take it you like Stanley stuff! I have an little organizer for squares on the side of the right upper cabinet. I carry a folding drywall square, and just check it for calibration with a framing square.

On your trailer you could put Dog Poop Remover. Then no one would mess with your trailer.

Nice set up by the way. I spent 20 years of my life doing similar work.

I got used to the organizer from the old carpenter that taught me. The saw horses are just something I bought. This nice thing is each leg is adjustable and you can set them up on a set of stairs if needed. Its also nice to be able to have 8 or 9" of adjustablity height wise for what I am doing. Both of them also fold down and take about 4" of space up. Which I really value working out of a truck bed with a tonneau cover.

That's a nice set-up. Don't forget to keep your floor clean. Tidiness can say a lot and earn you more business.

Those were my thoughts exactly! I hope it's not easily unhitched! And maybe it's just me being paranoid but is it wise to post detailed pics of this on the internet for anyone to see what's there for the taking?

Great setup, but I think I'd have kept it a secret :)

Cheers,
Mark.

I am impressed with your trailer. My neighbor had a contractor redo her kitchen, the guy showed up in an 80's Chevy van with sh!t piled in the back. If a contractor showed up to my house with a cluttered, ****** vehicle I would be hesitant to let them work on my house. On the other hand, you show up with a trailer like that I am much more at ease. I myself am very OCD about cleanliness and order.

Great job. With all of this talk about security, why put a sign on the trailer? I've always believed in a low profile rig. Just my thought!

You got to get creative with your security plan... Just paint about 1/3 of it in blotches of grey primer and chromium green primer, and put "Schmitt's Septic Service" in Brown Letters on each side and hang a couple pieces of nasty green corregated hose on one side. Squirt the backdoor with some red fox urine before you leave it for the night. You could leave it anywhere and nobody would bother it. You'd be surprised to hear that more than a few drag bikes live in and get drug all over the country in trailers of that style. Well, except those guys just pee on the door themselves.

Seriously though, thats shows a lot of careful thought and planning. Nice trailer!
