Outlet plug size solutions ?

Currently I have a 6 outlet surge protector on the bench to run things like bench grinder, mini fridge, overhead light and extension cord reel. The problem is I have to move everything around when I have to use one of those dam plugs with a transformer built in. Any ideas ?

I try to leave the last outlet in a surge strip open, so a transformer can overhang the edge.
Or get a power strip that has two rows of plugs. One row in the traditional arrangement. The second row has the plugs sideways and widely spaced, just for transformers.
Or get a "power squid".

It sounds to me you need more regular outlets. You really don't need to put things like a bench grinder, light, or cord reels on a surge protector.

What you want is called a "power strip liberator" on ebay or at your local computer store.

Nothing more than a short (9-18") extension cord. The "wall wart" sits on the desk/bench upside down and then plugs into the power strip. They make "Y" Liberators so you can plug in 2 wall warts.

I have seen the singles go for as cheap as $0.99 on Black Friday.

I have 3 strips daisy chained for that type of thing, even with everything going an amp or 2.

Another good housekeeping tip;

Along with doubling and quaddruppling at the outlets, make sure

to run all your extension cords under the carpet, too.

I have about 8-10 things plugged into one outlet via power strips and Y power cables.. Most draw less than ½A, a few around 1A.

I would recommend not plugging anything that draws more than 2-3A into that outlet.

i have a larger surge protector/outlet that will accept several wall warts.
