outside conduit, drip ring needed?

so i am about to run a outside conduit to the attic so i can wire up a subpannel in the garage. was planning on running plastic conduit all teh way as its a streight shot and didnt want to be changing wire types between the main box and the sub panel. do i need a drip rail? can i do it like the green one? or do i need to do it like the red?

I know you can't go in from the top, as the box doesn't appear to have provisions for a "hub".

I believe you can go in from the side, however. I'm sure one of the resident electricians will be along shortly with more complete information.

i was going to run the wire on the inside, but it would be more work then its worth.

Is that box flush with the surface of the stucco? The photo looks deceiving.

lol, sorry, yea, that box is flush. and all the house circuits are going up though the stud cavity. the one issue i have is that where the orginal holes were in the top plate somebody who fixed the stucko seemed to fill that whole area with stucko. i tried taking some out but its in there very well. i figured i could add a external pvc conduit to bring power up into the attic.

i doubt you have room to enter the top of that panel. You dont need the 'drip loop'. How exactly do you propose to do this though? Is the conduit running exposed outside? Are you tearing open the wall?

i do have room to enter it from the top. as i havwe a hole on the inside of the house to show the top of the panel. i planed on just running conduit on the outside of the house.

i guess i could just use the inside hole and make a new hole going to the ajacent stud cavity and go up that wall. then i could use romex instead of singles and conduit all the way.

that would probably be easier. The transition from conduit outside through the wall, and down into the panel is not going to be fun.
