I don't know exactly what I am asking about but at the Corvette show at the GM Tech Center they had natural grass growing up through a plastic reinforcement mesh (looked to be about 2"square). The cars could drive on the grass without marking it and sinking in leaving tire tracks. I would like to install a pad like this next to my garage for trailer storage. From 6' away it looked like grass, and I guess you can mow it like grass too. Does anybody have experience or even know the name of this product? Thank you jon crane

If you store a trailer on it, the grass underneath will die. This approach works better if you want to drive over grass to get somewhere. If you want to park on it on a regular basis, I wouldn't recommend it.

A company near Atlanta called Tensar makes the grid stuff. We built some of the machinery for them to make it. It's called a Geo grid. It's used in the mining industry to hold gravel road beds together. Also used to hold RIP Rap rocks together. Some really tough stuff.

Closet similar product is the orange fence stuff seen around construction sites.

Not sure where to get it retail though. Try their web site maybe.

That second link Volvo posted is like the stuff at the Tech Center (it's hexagonal rather than square grid, but the same principle). That stuff at the Tech Center has held up very well. They have several shows a year on that surface.
