Another vote for Eley as mine has stayed outside year round for 5 years and counting with zero issues.

I bought a Macnaught Retracta back in December that I am very happy with. I found out about it here on GJ. It has 1/2" hose instead of 5/8" hose, but that hasn't caused me any issues. I got it from Amazon for $199.00, but it doesn't look like they have them anymore. Zoro carries them now at a slightly higher price, $240.00.

I had one of those. It lasted about 13-14 years before the side cracked and it started leaking. I would buy one again....

I have two of these from Northern Tool, they're awesome. Simple color scheme, fully enclosed, hose is replaceable (many are NOT), and the cherry on top is that it's backed by the good folks at NT. Holding up great in the brutal TX sun (literally facing southwest) for over two years now. Highly recommended.

I love my eley reel. Just trying to make peace with $200 for a 100ft hose. They send a leader with the reel that I am convinced is just to show you how incredible the quality is in their hoses. It's amazing the difference between it and the stuff at big box stores... But it is still 3-4x the cost

This site has cost me too much money.

I took the plunge and ordered the Eley hose reel this morning. I'm replacing two broken plastic ones.
