Oven heating parts - what do you use?

I know a lot of guys (including me) use the "freeze-and-heat" technique when removing and replacing valve guides, bearings, seals, etc. Most guys I've talked to just use the kitchen range and refrig/freezer, but that's not the best option if you're doing it regularly. (I hate running upstairs to the kitchen, the freezer is always packed full of frozen food, and it's not the most appetizing thing to put old parts where you prepare food, even if they've been degreased.)

So, has anybody set up a dedicated parts oven/freezer in your shop, and if so what do you use? Also, is there such thing as a purpose-built parts oven, or is recycling an old kitchen wall oven or convection oven the only options?

I used to use an old large deep fryer filled with motor oil to heat bearings, etc. set to 325 degrees

You can pretty easily get a kit. remod take out oven for free off CL free section, or possibly Freecycle, and put that in the garage if you have space.

I have a full size fridge/ freezer, Range, and a toaster oven in the shop. All were bought off craigslist ($25 for the set if I remember right). With an oven you can start powdercoating too!

Over the years have had two SS GE full-sized ovens......the slide in type, not ranges.Would hook'm up and hang on to them for a cpl years and eventually get tired of space they require.

Now,its big toaster oven......freebe.Do like the deep fryer idea.....will keep an eye for one, thanks.BW
