Overhead door color match

Hello,

I am getting ready to put up a new shop, and was told at first they could match the overhead doors to the wainscoting.

Now I may have misunderstood them or was told wrong, but now they say the door colors won't match the sides.

Does anyone know where I could get overhead doors to match at a reasonable price?

The steel is Central Steel Mfg. in Burnished Slate. My doors are 20 x 12 and 12 x 12. I spoke with a local door mfg. and they said one could be custom painted to match, but would be very pricey.

Thanks!!!

Was a color match part of the contract?
If so they should paint it for you.
If not, you should do it your self.
I do know it would be any more cost just because it is a door.

I just painted my door with standard latex paint and a Graco sprayer. It turned out great and did not cost a ton.

mjchamp: since the door is not installed yet I was thinking about doing this in the sections.

Did you do it while it was put together or take it apart?

HDepoy, Lowes, Sherwin Williams can all mix paint to match the siding. Just take them a sample of the metal and they can scan it to get a match.

I did it while it was assembled and installed. I just made sure to do a very good job masking everything off.

A decent painter charged me 100$/door to do some (already installed) 9x7s at my house. If you dont get em painted before they go up, just Have the builder leave off the vinyl seals and paint em after theyre up.

The paint does eventually wear under the seals but you dont see it.
