I just got a quote (supply/install) from good company- want to know if it’s fair:

2 8x7 Cloplay 431, 2” polystyrene insulated doors, white no windows, 12” radius tracks, torsion springs, - Goldstar warranty upgrade

2 liftmaster 8355 WiFi belt drive openers with 3 transmitters

1 outside pad

Take down/haul away old door

$2600

20 mins south of Baltimore

Are these replacement doors, or new installations?

The Clopay doors retail for ~$350 and the openers are ~$220, so you're looking at ~$1300 or so for materials.

That means $1300 for labor. Seems high to me, unless this is a new build that will require all the supporting metal framework as well.

I paid ~$3600 for my doors, but one was a 16'x9', which was pretty expensive by itself. Mine was a new build, so the company did everything.

Sounds like over $1k in labor/warranty/throw away of old material. Retail cost for everything is about $1500 on the high side. Since they are a dealer, they are getting the stuff for significantly less.
I don't know if you have coupons for this stuff where you live, but I get coupons in the mail all of the time for garage door discounts. Anywhere from 10% to 40% savings.

I'd get some other quotes. It seems high. Labor is cheap and they want you to think its not. I'd say $2k tops for that job would be fair.

I am not big up on your market, but I would say that should realistically be in the $2k range or less.

Go to the 8550 opener if you are going belt drive. It shouldn't cost much more, and it is a better opener in my opinion.

Also look at home depot. you can build and price doors and openers on their site, and it allows you to choose DIY or installed price.
