Hass makes the best insulated doors, 3 inches thick with a R-26 rating. I have 5 of them on my cave. They reduced my heating/cooling cost by over $500.00 a month, paying for themselves in the first year and a half (cave is 8200 sq ft).

Dunno about that, Overhead door just came out with a 3" R28...

Real answer is - see whats available local, The best doors useless to you without a good local dealer. The worst door can be the best option dependant on the local dealer/installer.

One of these days I'll go on a long rant about different door faces / hardware... But there are so many not available in my market - that it's almost useless to > half of you (who may have completely different makes/models; or may not have any of my options available to you).

any places online to get prices, i can't seem to get prices unless you get in touch with them.

Home Depot carries Clopay. You can try looking on their website but the size you want is not a normal residential size so it may not be listed. I needed a 12'x10' last year and they gave me a quote in a few minutes at the store.

I went with Haas (2)12x12 and (1) 14x14 the best doors I could find. Not cheap but no other doors I looked at were even close. I hate those cheap doors that rattle in the wind.
I show my building to a fair amount of people looking to build. They always take down the type of door.

i got another price on the door, this one is an industrial door. it has an r26 insulation value and has 3 windows in it. it looks real good but seems a bit overboard for me and its 1800. opinions?
