Just started framing my new 28 x 38 garage. I am installing 3 10' wide by 8high overhead doors. I have a 6 inches of concrete wall above the finished floor. The door openings are notched exactly 10 feet ( 120 inches) to accomodate the doors. The concrete wall is 8 inches thick.

My question is whether or not I should use a 2x6 jamb on the inside of the notched wall or leave it at 120 inches. Also, any suggestions to finishing the inside jamb? The concrete contractor also notched the back of the wall to accomodate a 2x6.

Thanks

I put a 2x6 frame around the inside of the opening, facing toward the inside of the garage. this is what I fasten the door to. Then framed the opening with 2x12 white wood.

To properly install the door, you should have had a rough opening that was 3 inches wider. It should still be do-able. You just have to set the door behind the white wood that you would use to frame the door opening. You would just loose 3" of width.

Here is a picture to give you an idea. The taller door is on a 8" foundation wall that is 36" tall.
