I am currently in the planning stages of my garage and I have a question about the garage door jamb. I am planning a 24" concrete stem wall above the finished floor elevation. I had originally planned on making the opening in the concrete 9'-3" to allow for a pressure treated 2x6 on eash side. Now I am considering using a composite trim board that is 3/4" thick. My question is if I should allow an extra 1-1/2" to put the composite over the 2x6 or just use the composite alone and attach that to the concrete stem wall. Thanks in advance.
