I did a search but may have missed this question.

In my one car garage finding room is an eternal challenge. I have an overhead 4' x 8' rack with 600 lb capacity.

I've looked at the motorized lifts but have never seen, used or know of anyone with it.

The prices seem to start around $180 for a Flexmount GL1 from Amazon to "Sir, how deep are your pockets?" for professionally installed lifts.

My thoughts had been to hoist the heavier mobile tools such as the radial arm saw out of the way until needed. However the Flexmount requires cells <=9'. In any case this hoist stops well above the ground eliminating it as an option. I don't have a forklift. I would need a hoist that decends to floor level from a 12' ceiling otherwise these lifts are only suitable for light storage for me since lifting is required.

Thoughts?

That's true, but I generally don't care much for warranties anyway. If I buy something that I know isn't exactly what I want, I treat it as just components of a project. Besides that, for that kind of money, I don't think it would be worth the effort and cost to file a warranty claim.

You would want some substantial attachment points to hoist a radial arm saw 12' in the air and then feel safe walking/working/parking underneath it. What else do you want to park in the sky?

Arbor press, small generator possible two, cases of oil. My current Flexmount fixed rack holds 600 lbs but is 4 x 8'. I'll likely have to add additional lights as any rack of useful size will block the 8' fluorescent tubes creating a big shadow. There are currently three twin 8' lights overhead.

With the new 24 x 72 mobile workbench the only way to safely get a car in is to make a few things disappear but keep them available and in a humidity controlled area.
