I'm thinking of building a shelf above my work bench. I was thinking 36" deep x 10' lg. Building it of 2x4 frame with plywood. It would fasten in on the back length of 10' and off to the left in a corner the 36" would be fastened to the side wall. This would leave the right corner away from the wall needing support. I don't want to run a column from the floor up. What is the best way to support? The garage is a pole building so the overhead point to tie into is the bottom of a truss. I want to store car doors, fenders, etc... and have about 500 lbs. capacity. I'm not a wood or construction type person. I do ok with my stuff but need some ideas.
Thanks,
