My first "real" tool box was a 42" used Cornwell. I bought it as a trade in from the SO guy. It served me well until I out grew it.
I would Imagine it was from the late 70's-80's. It was well build but had friction sliders and most of the drawers were too shallow.
Sound like a Kennedy box?

I've had 2 Cornwell boxes. My first one was a CBT4200, and it was built like a tank IMO. I do body/paint work. So I have goofy sized tools beyond the normal hand tools. The latch system was great, it was overloaded, and never skipped a beat. I eventually out grew it and bought a CBT6000, a wider version of what I had. Both boxes I bought used, and honestly if I could find another, I would.

For me, the drawer layout is great, some don't like it, but it fits me well.

I looked at cornwell boxes back when I was box hunting looked at all of them. Ended up with matco triple bay looked at cornwell but if i remember correctly they had weird dmensions. Compared to Matco Mac and Snappy.

I just did. They do look good. I'm sure they are great quality and built tough. There is just something about them I don't really like. I would love to see one in person to change my mind. Also if they did start making boxes again for Cornwell they would need to make one bigger than 60" wide. They may make boxes for the automotive industry but it's not the focus for them. It's still definitely industrial.

This. The boxes look pretty decent but not a whole hell of a lot of choice in what you get.

Has anyone ever had to replace the latch system/ drawer pull on one of the boxes like the yellow posted? I need 2 and can't find any info on them.
