a simple stand in the rear center of the two cylinders, with two chains going through the center and around to the backside of each respective cylinder isnt hard to do, and makes changing bottles a little bit less of a pain if you happen to accidentally tap the other while taking one out.

a little safer, but i wouldn't know what standards are

Ok I added a 3rd hole to my design. Here is the bar that supports the upper part of the tanks.

two chains. you will go through oxygen twice as fast as acetylene. no need to leave a bottle of flammable gas / liquid unchained while you are changing out an empty.

looks good. just what you need, and you can either do a simple hook on the ends to hook the chain with, or you can do a fancier style fastener that would allow you to tighten the chain up against the bottle if you are worried about a little wobble.

to make it tight, i would go with something simple and cost effective like a bolt/wingnut, otherwise you might as well buy a nice latch to attach the chains to the outsides if trying to make it tight.

i see quick connects .... i do not see FlashBack arrestors (but most torches have them built in) .

Hopefully they are on the end that connects to the quicks.....

I hate chains - on any bottles - but especially on MIG cart bottles. They have a tendency to jump around or be too loose to keep the bottle still. I use HD Bungee Cords.

Check valves in the quick connects, flash quenchers on the torch handles.

Another vote for Zero chains.

The base has lips that cup the base of the tanks.
There is a steel wedge behind the tanks right where the steel strap wraps around the tanks.

thats what i was thinking .... ;) i love my QCs ... i keep them on the truck so my torch isnt dangling off the side trying to find a ride home with someone else and so i dont have to fool with the wrench anymore.

I came up with a good way to tension a chain up. I have a chain on my TIG cart to hold the bottle. It doesn't rattle or anything. I'll take a picture later.

I use two 1" nylon ratchet straps.
I also use 2 of the nylon ratchet straps. I park my wheeled cart in a corner of the garage where it is out of the way, but easy to get to when I need it. I don't use mine very often, maybe a couple times a month at the most. But when you need it, you need it.
