I did a leak test on a Harris torch set I recently accuared. I found a leak between the Oxygen tank and the regulator.

From the tank to the regulator there are 3 parts:

1) The large screw that connects to the oxygen tank
2) There is then a "Spark Arrestor"
3) There is an adaptor that connects the Spark Arrestor to the body of the regulator.

My leak is between part 2 and 3. I went to my local welding shop and they told me part 2 is no longer used.

Now my set up with exclude the Spark Arrestor - Does that sound right? The set is rather old.

I'm not that old but I've never seen a spark arrestor on the tank side of a regulator. It just goes: tank, valve, regulator.

I've never seen a flashback arrestor that takes bottle pressure, they are on the outlet side of the regulator afaik and should be available separately

My oxy set up,

Okay..well then that's reassuring. Thanks for the input. Clearly this was the reason they stopped producing the set with the flashback arrestor/Spark guard between the tank and the regulator.

Do you guys think I should just go ahead and swap out the Acydeline side too?

Don't want to wait for it to leak if that's no longer a good rig set up design.
