Looking into getting one. Any one better than other? Need a cutter/pin burner

Next question will it burn pins out like a torch? Will a siezed pin melt away from the edge of the bore like you would a torch due to the different metals/temps or will I score the bore easier?
I’m good enough with a torch I can commonly melt a nut off a bolt and reuse the bolt... will I be that good boring a 8” long 2” pin out of a bore?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that is the one we have at work. It has been used a lot and seems to just keep going.

As far as use there is a learning curve and it's definitely more intense to use than a torch. Our primary use is blowing gudgeon shafts out of screw conveyors and I would say it's about 50/50 whether or not they nick the screw (but it also doesn't matter in that use case).

I use the “minitorch” that Cat sells. For pins you’re not so much burning them out like a cutting torch would but piercing the middle and blowing out a good bit of the center and the intense heat expands then shrinks the pin

We use them to cut load cells out (3.5” round 8” long). Like Redneck said pierce through the middle then cut straight down and let the pin shrink.

I have seen some of the guys blow 1” pins out without wrecking the bore.

Massive amounts of blow back sparks, be prepared. I have seen some guys wear old firefighter gear for protection.
