Smoke, I'd guess 1/2 on the hex drive? Pretty common size for hex drive in the early days.
That sounds right...I can measure tomorrow.Smoke, I'd guess 1/2 on the hex drive? Pretty common size for hex drive in the early days.

Thanks. I gave it to its new owner yesterday. He was quite excited. That's a rare bird!

So Smoke, I know you know this but just to ensure the general audience is up to speed..that is a Thorsen mfd speed wrench and the connection with P&C lies in 1. General Tool was an original retail arm of P&C and 2. Thorsen was founded by former P&C employees.
This adjustable is so cool! I have seen a combo wrench that is plomb on one side and p&c on the other and now this...I think this 1947 4" adj. wrench was brought up before somewhere on the GJ but not sure if pictured. Clearly stamped P&C over VPLVMBV 704 marking on one side and mfd. 1704 u.s.a. over the FORGED PLVMBALVY STEEL on opposite side.
Hi Steve, like this or is the Plomb visible in yours?I have a pebble puller that's rebranded like that. Pix are buried somewhere in this thread..
if i remember it`s like that one.Hi Steve, like this or is the Plomb visible in yours?
Oh dang! Those wrenches are niceOregon rock crusher came by and checked out my tool pile and made a post on the Plomb thread. Besides the excellent BS session he gifted me this very early, double 4 pt., super clean P&C Ford brake wrench. I don't have all my stuff here or where I can find it but I did grab these 2 other West Coast examples, a mid 30's 8 pt. Thorsen and a 8 pt/ 4 pt 6502 variation 1931 Plomb.
