Thanks to @tinmedic for alerting me to the availability of this P&C hatchet. Not a tool mobile, but still something that you just don't see everyday.

Still has what appears to be the original leather sheath.

Re: P&C Stuff

That is one way to dance around a trade mark lawsuit[emoji38] if that was when Plomb owned them. But we all know how that story ended up.

P&C Tools are really nice after rummaging through all the bins around town in the pawn shops several times each month I have about 10 P&C tools all sockets one of which is cracked and I have a 3/8 round head ratchet that I got at an estate sale with a toolbox full of SK stuff. The ratchet is really nice I don’t use it because I don’t want to damage it.

As long as you don't put a cheater on it, you are unlikely to damage it. Open it up, clean and lube, you should be good to go.

I picked up a couple of P&C 1/2 drive extensions yesterday. They are shown in photo #1 with some other items from the sale.

The shorter one is a #6203, but the longer one doesn't have a part number that I can find. It is a 10" extension and it is a dead ringer for the #6004 shown in the 1929 catalog. It is marked P&C TOOL CO. MILWAUKIE OREGON.

These were in a mixed "grab bag" box of about 25 pounds of tools at a garage sale.

Yeah I would never use a cheater on it ever especially not on my vintage tools like that. I won’t take it to work though ever since people tend to sometimes grab things when your back is turned but I might use it at home for my car stuff there.

Well thanks Mr Olson. Yes, a 1920's ratchet. Got a fair amount of Plomb also.
Whoa whoa whoa! There is Plomb involved? I feel like that should be a post on the plomb thread![emoji38]

I am constantly amazed at the diversity and selection a person had to buy quality tools, in, lets say, 1963.

Must have been 10 diff unique in-house mfg'ers that made auto-tools if you wanted to shop around.

Smoke has been running amok with his outlaw cross-posts. Someone really ought to take away his toys to teach him a lesson!

Yup, you know the one[emoji23] plus I was publicly threatening Rileysan with a ratchet hostage situation while I was also simultaneously texting him some info on a non thread appropriate pickup he is doing this weekend [emoji23]

Here's an unusual set I came across today while digging out some early Thorsen midget sets. P&C did market these 6 socket, breaker only 1/2" drive sets around 1930 and I have plenty of unmarked sockets that have come from early P&C sets but but I don't ever remember seeing ones knurled or shaped like these.

This hinge handle and set is truly worthy of the bow down! This one I can get excited about and that logo looks really nice for its age!
