As the unofficial representative of the P&C fan club, first let me say "You ****" - We are all very jealous!!

Any chance you might be able to take a few more photos for us?

Edit: P&C was purchased by Plomb in the 1940s so most, if not all their tools are identical from WWII on. In the case of the tool boxes, Plomb contracted with a yet to be identified tool box maker to have those made. So you are correct: Your P&C box is identical to the Plomb 9990

Thanks!

Brian

Thanks for the " you **** " Brian! And hello smokeshow. I have one more pic on my profile, I'd post it here, but struggling with pic posting, but I'll figure it out. I'll take more pics tomorrow, give it a bath. Inside and bottom are blue, outside looks kinda like brown hammertone. Curious if it's original paint/ finish?

The outside looks original. But then again, I'm color blind so my opinion counts for squat!

I own a 1960s P&C tool chest that was made by a different manufacturer and is red. By that time, Plomb had changed names to Proto but the tools were still identical between P&C and Proto. IIRC, there was a gentlemen who had a family member who worked for P&C in Milwaukie, Oregon, and he had a set of P&C boxes that were blue. I'll try to find his posts in the next couple of days.

Also forgot to ask, if you are comfortable with saying how much you paid? It helps other members establish a basis for cost if they where to come across another! Such a sweet pick up!

This vintage of box could have also been painted green. The boxes are identical to the Plomb version other that the logo stamping. They also made the the smaller 9980 Plomb size box with a P&C stamp.Nice find of an uncommon toolbox.

This was one of those Sunday half off estate sales that my wife talked me into going to. Usually picked over pretty good but the things she collects aren't too popular so she enjoys the bargains. So into the garage I go, rummage through the junk tools, nuts and bolts, and the tool box with a price tag of $50. I pick two handy oilers, a brass Hudson sprayer wand, a vintage stapler, a plastic cabinet, and a vintage vanity mirror. We head to the cashier and I offer $25 for the box and everything else. She accepts and we're all smiles on the way back to the car.

You killed it at $25... Heck I think most would say you killed it if you paid $75! Very nice find [emoji2] I live in the northwest near where the p&c factory was and have never seen one of those[emoji108]

I picked up these at a garage sale for $1. I have not had a chance to clean them up yet! 02a26c5f22e533d9fecbcf102bb6a277.jpg
