I recently came across a P&H WNT80 Welder paired to a Wisconsin TF engine. The lady is wanting $450 for it and was curious on how much these welders/engines go for. When I went and looked at the welder I could not get the engine to turn over by hand assuming it’s cause the exhaust was not covered all the way and it’s been sitting out in the weather for 2 months according to her. The spark plugs did have a little rust on them so I figured the engine was froze she did say it turned over 2 months ago but her son fell ill and it’s sat since then. There’s not much on WNT80’s on the web so figured I’d ask here. I will post some pictures below.

P&H made perhaps the best welder ever made, but anything abused is not going to hold up long. P&H sold out in 1970, and by 1980 they were completely defunct. So, even though anything can be fixed, I would pass at over $150; $200 if you want it bad enough. I have a P&H and love it, though not a gasoline model. At $450 it should start, run, and weld.

That is just the welder. It is a monster, weighing in at 800 pounds without the cart or accessories. I have the tig pedal, tig torch lines, long leads, extension cord, and spot welder. It is capable of remote control, but I don’t have that hardware. It is 300 amp AC/DC +/-, 60% duty cycle, single phase 220, has pre-purge and post-purge adjustable settings, high frequency arc stabilizer with adjustable phase and intensity, water-cooled tig, and spot welder. It was made in 1967 and is military surplus. I bought it years ago from the pilot for Virginia Tech, who used it to build home-built aircraft. I would sell it. It is more than I ever needed, and I have a 1947 Lincoln FleetArc 180 that will do anything I can do.

I think she's asking way too much for that welder opened up to the weather. She says it'sa been outside two months which may really mean 2 years. Wave 150.00 at her and maybe she'll bite. Some people just place too much value on something that doesn't run may not work.
