Just moved from Lake Tahoe and sold our house with 23 x 23 garage with 12 foot ceilings. Just put an offer (accepted) into our new house on Whidbey Island, WA and the new garage is 23 x 23 with a 9 ft ceiling. Garage is fully insulated, drywalled, and lighted. I sold a car, vintage signs, tools, etc. I want to start with a blank slate and do this garage in a clean, organized way with the ability to move things around to clear certain areas when desired. I'm going to go with Race Deck or Swisstrax floor probably, and have work bench(s) and storage on wheels for flexibility. I'll be looking for next project car which will be something different for me. Having owned multiple examples of Lotus, Sunbeam Tigers, and Alpines, MX5's, an Alfa, Healy, and others I want to build a vintage Volvo driver that I can do vintage rally's in. First things first though. The house needs to close before I buy a car and do the garage.

Here'a couple pics of the new garage which I hope to be in by the middle of Nov.

Tahoe: looks like you still miss Tahoe with your new GJ handle. do you? just curious how you ended up choosing Whidbey Island to pick as your home? are you retired or just wanted a place outside the city to commute to and from to?

in any case welcome to the forum and glad you started a thread with that cool looking garage.

I started a thread for PNW members to post on a while back and feel free to join the group and post there to if you want to and have time. here's the link:

I had the Tahoe handle before we moved. Moved because of job on the Island. I'll do a new thread once we actually move in and I start to make it my own. Right now I'm just dreaming and trying to come with a plan, but like any plan it usually changes after you move in. I'm extremely excited on being here, the PNW is incredible.
