Just got the pad bid for my 30 by 66 add on to my garage @ $22500...ouch...that doesn't include the concrete either...That's about $10000 more than I anticipated...I'm scratching my head on this one...what to do??

Is that any fill required or special work? I think it seems high without concrete. I have heard rough rule of thumb is to about double the concrete to get full cost of concrete job. I am sure there are lots of variables in that, especially my first comment above about special prep work.

For concrete pricing, just had my slab and footers poured today. 4000 lb concrete was $99/yard per the concrete guy.

WOW! What are you trying to get done? Just a pad? 30x66 @ 4" is almost 25 cubic yards. So material alone is less than $3000 (depending on your local prices - mine is $110/yd).

I can't figure that. Way too much. Call the local concrete company and ask them who they recommend.

I received multiple bids for a 39 X 50 pad. They ranged from $14000 to $27000. I ended up doing the forming and rebar myself and hiring concrete finishers for around $9500.
I would get more bids.

I think we need a little more information on what all is involved with your site. Is it level? Is it rocky? For something that was on a steep slope, had access issues, was in a remote location or might require blasting or heavy equipment then MAYBE, I could understand but it sure seem high.

For reference a month ago I had a 34.5'x53' pad poured. This was in town level with no obstructions. Basically clear out grass and tree roots. It was a day and a half with a large skid steer and a crew of 3. They excavated the whole pad down 2' and brought new in and compacted after every 6". The total was $1,500. That's a 30+ year licensed contractor and not a shadetree operator too. Forms, rebar, trenching and the concrete pour was $9,350 including $650 for the boom truck. It was a total of 40 yards. The pad is roughly the same size as yours but I don't know how our localities and site conditions compare.

I just had a 20x30 pored with curbs and a flower bed opening and a 10x12 hot tub pad pored for $2200.00 including concrete. So,1/3 the size of yours. $2200 x 3 = $6600.00 seams like a fair price to pay. Keep shopping.

I did my 24x48 slab myself for around $3500. $3k for the concrete delivered, and another couple hundred to rent a Bobcat to excavate, and a few bucks for rebar. Consider doing some work yourself and save lots of money.
