Paddle Drill Bits from Japan

I picked up some paddle bits at the pawn shop the other day to use as split nut drivers for some hand saw rebuilds. I expected that they would be china junk, but was surprised to see that they were made in Japan.

Are they considered good quality, and worth hanging onto, or should I just grind them up for other uses?
