I put up a temporary paint booth in my shop to paint my tractors & parts.
Any recommendations what to put down on epoxy floor? I have plastic on the walls & ceiling and thought putting it on the floor would cause a sticky mess.

Why not get some 1/8" underlayment or subfloor material from HD, Lowes, etc and tape the sections together. Should clean up nicely and creates a level surface that you won't trip on.

How slippery is the flor when wet?
Just misting the floor with water is a common practice.
No need for a tidal wave, just moist so dust is not stirred up in the air. Any dust landing on the floor will stick also.

Malibu's right - water on the floor is the common practice in bodyshops (mostly to keep dust down) and paint doesn't build up on floor as much as one might think. For once-in-a-while painting I would think you'd be OK with a water'd floor - just make sure you get enough on to cover the entire floor but not so much that you not splash it (with hose, feet, etc) onto your paint surface!

I use brown kraft paper. Got a roll of it from Lowe's, I think it's 3 ft. wide. Roll it out and tape the seams. It catches the overspray just fine, but if you spill solvent, it will bleed through.

I would think paper would be the easiest thing to use. Linoleum, sheets, or a tarp might work too.

Or put plastic down first, then put paper over it.

I just toured a new Porsche,Audi,Mercedes state of the art body shop and they had the floors in the paint booths covered with craft paper. However I was dissapointed at the amount of dirt that I saw in the paint.I suspect most of it came from the tape they used on the floor seams.
Maybe they should have cut the tape rather tan tear it off the roll.
So much for the new high tech body shop -I have seen better paint work done the old way-Wet down the floor before spraying.

I believe EverCoat makes a Booth Fllor coating that is a latex base or you can slime (water soluable coating Body Shops use to keep overspray off un-masked areas) the floor & wash up the Slime when you are done with the temp booth.

If you are using polyurethane paint do not wet the floor. You do not want moisture with this paint unless you are brushing it on.

After reading the comments in this thread I realise I may probably misunderstood the intital question.
The question IS: How do I keep my epoxy from getting overspray?
I THOUGHT it was: How do I keep dust down?

Sorry for my confusion.

BUT, I've been on many construction jobsites where they have a real thin plastic that static clings to carpet to keep the carpet clean while work is going on. I'd bet you can buy it at a big box store. Never seen it used on a smooth floor though.
