Paint choice for shop interior

I’m looking into painting my shop. It’s a one car garage that needs some help in the lighting department. I have some fluorescent fixtures that help but I think it needs paint. The ceiling is bare framing, The walls are split horizontally with the bottom half being Sheetrock and the top half being pegboard. I was thinking white on the Sheetrock/ceiling and a light gray for the pegboard. Does any certain finish work better than the other?

You would be amazed at how much difference putting drywall on the ceiling and painting it white will make. I used a semi-gloss white when I did the walls at my business.

IMO id put up white steel. If you have amish around you, you may be able to find steel quite cheap from them. In my case steel will be cheaper than paint bc of how many coats I would have to apply. Im not a paint guy but I think its a satin white that's on the steel if that helps

in my 30 x 60,Drywall on ceiling will make a huge difference.my walls and ceiling are semi-gloss white. I don't have a lot of pegboard around, but what I have painted red. I like the look

We’re only renting this place so while I am trying to improve it I don’t want to dump a lot of time and money into it. And the ceiling is a bit short to rock anyways.
