What are the proper colors for the red and black Craftsman tool boxes? Is there a rattle can color I could buy?
I could stay it with a spray gun as well.

Here is a Red

I spent alot of time looking on here for a match for Craftsman red. I found out that Rustoleum "Regal Red" is as close as I could get at homedepot.

This is a HF paper towel holder and can/driver holder painted with two coats of Regal Red

Hope this helps someone! Thanks

they used to have the correct color in the paint dept. at sears. good luck finding a sears store much less one with a paint dept. these days.

most boxes were made by waterloo. i bet they could tell/sell you the right colors to match.

There are a number of threads on "Craftsman Red" here, some going back several years.

I resprayed a top box using about a 50/50 blend of Rustoleum Safety Red + Regal Red. Either one alone was clearly wrong, and the equal-parts blend (more or less -- suit your own taste and color vision) was really quite good.

Anyone got a clue about the older silver looking Craftsman boxes?

By the way, that red in the picture looks pretty good to me.

Rustoleum gloss black worked for me when I repainted a few boxes to match the Cman black boxes.I bought cans and mixed it for the spray gun.

I also used some Rustoleum charcoal on a HF box drawers it looked pretty close to Cman grey drawers.

As a matter of fact, I did another box with both of the colors mentioned above and it came out pretty nice.

Here's a link to the box and repaint I did on it.
