Paint & Epoxy Question

My friend has some left over (commercial) concrete paint from a recent job he did, and he has offered it to me for my garage project. My question is I would like to have a high gloss finish on my floor, the paint is semi gloss, can I put a high gloss epoxy clear coat on top of the pain or do I have to put a high gloss clear coat paint finish on top and if so what would you recommend.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ditch the paint and go with epoxy is my first reaction, but people do all kinds of things and get away with it. IF the "paint" is properly bonded to a properly prepared surface, and you apply a 100% solids clear on top, it could work.

The paint is the weak link and if it fails, then you lost all you have invested.

Reaction between types and brands of coatings are unpredictable.

Good luck no matter what you do.

Epoxy is not going to bond with the paint. You will have a mess a few months later if you put an epoxy clear on concrete paint.
