Hey gang, trying to set our shop up better for finishing. We're architectural and structural steel fabricators, so mostly just DTM primers, epoxies, and occasionally Tnemic coatings. Not much, if any ISO... The guys have been using cartridge respirators, but the boss would like to look at SAS. I used an Axis ProAir system for years when I had a Line-X shop. It worked really well, and didn't take long to get used to managing two hoses.
My question is-
Separate pump/Hose system, or 1 hose system with belt mounted filters using the air compressor air??

I'm leaning towards going back to a ProAir or similar, as it could also be used with our sandblasting hood, thereby removing a bunch of CFM consumption that would improve blasting efficiency. The primary paint guy is already whining about 2 hoses though...

I have the SATA Vision 2000 SAR, the nice part about using the air compressor air is that I have a refrigerant dryer, so it also acts as AC so you don't sweat on your work.. In addition to your standard filters you need to have CO monitor, Charcoal filter, and a non-gassing supply hose (Gates). One hose and a whip hose off the belt for the paint gun, your paint guy will be happy.
