I've used a generic urethane hardener on 2-3 types of paint it was not mated for with good luck. Rustoleum even! Industrial type use, not a car in case it went south. Benches, cabinets, tools, that type of thing. Try it and see on a small piece of scrap.

Urethane catalyst only work with a urethane based product. They are not dryers like Japan dry or the Majik brand and Valspar accelerators

Not really. It just dries faster. It works with Rustoleum and Tremclad, and maybe others.

Can you get Japan drier that's clear?

Only stuff I've found has a red tint to it, only time I tried it was in white paint, of course. :willy_nil

I never noticed a tint, but I never used it on white paint either. Did it actually tint it, or was it just red tinted looking and you didn't use it?

It can tint it, it makes it dri faster i think by generating heat with the paint i think and i always wondered about effect it has on the paint
